Police are looking at the possibility that he developed a medical problem behind the wheel before col- liding with the central reserva- tion. The crash happened at 10.46am on Monday last week. The mans silver Mercedes travelled across three lanes of the motorway before ending up on its roof. Witnesses to the accident are urged to call Whitchurch police on 101. Police appeal for help in hunt for house burglars The victorious Hampshire crew CREWS from Hamp- shire Fire and Rescue service scooped top prize at the UK Rope Rescue Challenge event in Glasgow. The six-strong team won gold medals in all four categories, including best team medic and best team leader. The group come from the services Urban Search and Rescue Team, which provides a techni- cal rope rescue response across Hampshire. The competition is held to hone the emergency response of teams. Team leader Keith Bellamy said: This is the third time the UK Rescue Organisation has staged this challenge. Hampshire won the first one in 2007, then came second last year and this year we are back on top. Over the three years, we have seen vast improvements in all the teams and the competi- tion has become tougher, so it was a bonus to win every category. It is an achievement we are really proud of and makes all the hard work we have put into training worthwhile. PC Mark Pullman of the Tadley Safer Neighbourhoods Team said: This bur- glary happened during the evening at a time when other people may have been around. We are taking the incident very seri- ously and would ask anyone with any information, no matter how insignifi- cant it may seem, to contact us as soon as possible. Anyone with information about the break-in should call PC Pullman at Basingstoke police station on 101 or the Crimestoppers charity, anony- mously, on 0800 555 111.
